Hi, I’m Alvin.
As a Physics mentor, learning designer, and the founder of LumiKnow, I have dedicated over a decade to guiding students through CBSE, IGCSE, and IB curricula. My mission is to transform those “I don’t get this” frustrations into genuine “Aha!” moments.
My path began with a fascination for astronomy and astrophysics—pondering black holes and celestial wonders that invite endless curiosity. That same sense of wonder drives my interactive teaching style today.
Throughout my career, I have supported over 200 students, navigating complex theories with absolute clarity and a touch of humor. It is incredibly rewarding to see my students exceed their own expectations and truly master the subject.
I currently serve at Oakridge International School, Gachibowli, while using LumiKnow to help learners tackle tough concepts, refine problem-solving skills, and build lasting confidence without the stress.
My philosophy is straightforward: we skip the rote memorization and the fear of formulas. By deconstructing difficult topics and practicing with intent, we turn Physics from an intimidating hurdle into a manageable, logical, and engaging subject for everyone.
Teaching Philosophy
Concept First
I focus on helping students understand the idea behind the formula, not just memorise it and hope the exam paper is kind.
Connect the dots
Physics becomes easier when students see how ideas are connected. We link concepts to real-life examples, diagrams, graphs and questions so things finally start to click.
Data Driven Learning
More practice is useful only when students know what they are improving. I use feedback, progress tracking and guided questions to help students fix mistakes instead of repeating them like a tradition.

LumiKnow helps students figure out one very important thing:
“Okay… what should I improve next?”
Many students get marks, but not always clear answers. LumiKnow helps students understand their strengths, spot learning gaps, track progress and get feedback that actually makes sense.
Through mentoring, practice and progress tracking, LumiKnow helps students build better study habits, improve confidence and become more independent learners.
The goal is simple: fewer confused faces, fewer repeated mistakes and more “Ohhh, now I get it” moments.
